DZ Deathrays is an Australian band that got their start playing house parties which isn’t that weird because if you think about it, the country of Australia is essentially one giant house party with some beaches and sheep and Hungry Jacks in the middle of it. Their music sounds like getting wasted on 40s and laying in the back of speeding pick-up trucks on the way to totally tearing shit up, also known as every weekend of my high school life. We sat down with them (on a dirty sidewalk no less) at SXSW to play Fuck, Marry, Kill.We did the white rapper edition and learned that people in Australia seem to think Vanilla Ice is still loaded.
